Thank you very much:

Alan
from the Air Historical Branch {RAF}

Alex
from the MOD Personnel Records (Access Service Team)

Sarah
for searching all sorts of archives,

Duncan
for trying to find more training records

Alice
for looking through archives in Nova Scotia and confirming dad disembarked there as part of the MOD trainingsprogram.

Dear Fergus,
for years of support and years of digging through piles of paperwork to try to find more about the time between leaving The Netherlands, working and training before formally joining the RAF.

Portia,
who was a dear old blogging friend from Australia. She was with my dad in London during the war. They both told a story about a cat in almost the same words and it turned out they knew each other during the war.

Aunty Cathy
(Catherine Brotherton) and family for giving my father a warm home when staying with them during part of the war. They gave us a warm welcome 25 years later and I'll never forget what they did for dad and for me.

And Ron.
Dad's RAF friend.
He showed me a tremendous lot of the UK, gave me a lot to think about during and after the discussions we had, and was a main forming influence for me as a person. He ignited the everburning flame in me to want to live at the other side of the pond.

And all those we will find on our way to find out more about my dad's life in England.
